Throughout my life I drew “things.” In grade school and high school I created art projects as part of extra credit work, always achieving high grades for the projects. However, I was not allowed to take art classes until my senior year of high school. Art was not considered an avenue to support oneself.
After high school I worked. Still dabbling in art related opportunities, but minimally. I went on to college, years after graduating from high school. Eight and a half years of night school with no room for art classes in my curriculum. Sadly, I had no time for art.
Finally, I retired and guess what… I made time for art! My art!
After retiring in 2007, I started taking formal watercolor and drawing classes. To further my love of art, I joined the California Watercolor Association and the Concord Art Association. I’ve participated in numerous shows including two one-woman shows in Walnut Creek, CA.
All I can say is that it’s art time for me at last!
